EXHIBITION SEPTEMBER 2012

William Patton

The Wicker Man is delighted to reveal new works by William Patton. Patton has travelled the world extensively as an aeronautical structural fitter and found a novel way to incorporate these unique skills in to his creative practice.
About his work, Patton states:
I have been fascinated by seeing the impact the symbolism of the cross has, and of course its stature as an icon. The cross is indicative of respect, love, devotion and belief, and lends these as accessible concepts with a universal approach. Its endurance as an icon is something I really admire, as an archetype that has manifested itself in many different guises, I appreciate its everlasting form.
My new collection ranges in intricate designs crafted by hand, however they all contain the same classic structure which can be translated and fashioned in an infinite number of styles.
